Issue with vendors and customers not auto-filling when appropriate.

I'm using QBO.  Lately when I enter a deposit the customer name doesn't auto-populate even if I've typed out all of the customer name. I have to manually click on the name in the drop-down or the customer box doesn't populate. 

 

I'm also having the same issue when edit a vendor bill for something simple like editing the date or adding an attachment. I get an error that I need to add a vendor name even though it's already there.  

 

I get similar issues with creating new expenses where I need to add the vendor name.  If I don't click on the name in the drop-down, it just doesn't fill that box and then when I go to, for example, our Dell vendor file, the payment doesn't show.

 

I don't know if this is a related issue, but I'm having to clear my browsing data every few days or QBO gets buggier.  All of these issues started around the same time and it's been happening for a few weeks now.

There are times that issues like this are caused by accumulated temporary internet files in your browser. You can sign in to your QuickBooks account through a private/incognito window. Check out shortcut keys below:

 

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N for Chrome
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P for Firefox and Microsoft Edge
  • Press Command + Shift + N for Safari

Also, you'll have to clear the cache to get rid of the stored junk files and improve system performance. Alternatively, you can switch to different supported browsers to further isolate the issue.

This glitch is occurring for me all throughout QuickBooks and every entry screen is incredibly slow to load.

The troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague Giovann_G can usually fix unusual behaviors in the QuickBooks program. If you have tried the instructions above but still getting the same result, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Care Team. They have the necessary tools to investigate the issue further. 

 

Here are the steps:

 

  1. Click the Help icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
  2. In the Help window, click the Contact Us button located at the bottom.
  3. Enter your question and click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start a chat or Call us.

 

If you have the new QuickBooks Assistant help update, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online account, go to the Help > Assistant.
  2. Type Talk to a human and proceed with I still need a human.
  3. Click the Contact us link.
  4. Select either Messaging or Callback.

Issue with vendors and customers not auto-filling when appropriate.

I'm having to clear my cache daily, sometimes twice a day just to deal with the buggy nature of QBO right now.  It doesn't resolve all the issues, but it resolves enough that I can at least successfully enter my work and know the vendor/customer name is attached to the transaction.

Thanks!  Clearing my cache helps a bit.  I have to clear it daily, though, and sometimes twice a day or QBO just starts having issues.
