I am using landed cost since it came out.. previously in enterprise 2020 and now in enterprise 2022.
In both versions, QB freezes during the application process.. can be when selecting bills or posting amounts to each line item or when saving.
This started about 8 months ago in Enterprise 2020. We upgraded 2 weeks ago to enterprise 2022 and the same probelm persists... does not matter if there are 2 users or 6 users.
This is a frustrating because it is taking me 5+ times longer to do landed cost than it should. constantly have to restart. There are times when waiting 5+ minutes, QB will undfreeze. This happens 10% of the time.. the other 90% I have end quickbooks thru task manager and restart.
File size is 1.7gb - company file on a server. no one else experiencing this issue on their desktops.
Hello there, @Artie C. Let’s perform some troubleshooting steps so you can use landed cost without freezing QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Before we start, let me provide some of the possible causes that your QBDT Enterprise software freezes. Please refer to the following:
To resolve this, let's run Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This fixes common errors in QBDT. It's recommended to use Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit for the best experience. Here's how:

this was not a solution.
Our Quickbooks Enterprise does not freeze during normal usage. there are 3 to 6 users at a time using the same company file and there are no freezing issues.
what i said was - quickbooks freezes for me when i am doing landed cost tasks, such as choosing bills, applying to products on a vendor invoice. no one else freezes at this time. sometines it will let me go to the next landed cost step after 10-15 minutes. other times I have to use end task to get out and log back in.
This happens more often when there are other users in the file. if i stay at night and no one is logged into quickbooks by me, it usually won't freeze.
this is frustrating and causing then landed cost process to take days instead of a few minutes.

Consider condensing your file to see any impact. If the same error persists, consider to have a 3rd party service to review your file. You may need to purchase a service to optimize your data file. QuickBooks data files larger than 500MB need to be optimized every 6-12 months to ensure they run at top performance. There is no internal functionality in QuickBooks to optimize the data file other than running a condense. The optimize operation will copy all data into a new data file, remove unwanted temporary data, and audit trail data to bring down file size by 25-40%. This will improve the performance and stability of the data file.
condensed file to 668mb from 1.79gb. problem still persists.
additional info that might help
opened task manager while it enterprise is frozen.
the qb file says not responding
there are 4 CefSharp.BrowerSubprocess tasks not moving
there is also a quickbooks MAPI subprocess task not moving.
maybe this new info can help solve the issue
Thanks for the additional information, @Artie C. I'm here to share information that will help clarify things for you.

Not a great answer saying they are working on it without a time frame.
this can mean months or longer :(

Who are "they"? Consider asking a third-party service provider to check your file for a second opinion.
INTUIT engineers
You have to be extra patient to deal with Support. Otherwise, seek a second opinion as I mentioned earlier.
i have done everything everyone has suggested. even went to a third party QB company and they could not find any problem in our system or set up or files.
the problem has reached critical. cannot allocate any landed cost bills to any vendor item bills.
QB freezes each time. this does not affect any other users in the file.
i just spent an hour on the phone with another support person - case # 1586962118
in the end he sent me an email about how to fix slowness in quickbooks.
another waste of my time. he even had a tier 2 person try to help him..
how he tried, i don't know, because other than looking at my screen he did not login to my system to look for any errors.
i will call every day going forward until someone higher up deals with this issue!
A frustrated quickbooks customer!
