Hi, there used to be a widget in which I could immediately see how much I invoiced each month, last month, etc.. Now it's 'sales', which only totals payments received from invoices. How do I view it the other way on a widget without having to do a report?
Welcome to the Community, Creative Pictures. I can show you how to track them without generating reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can see all your invoices in QBO by accessing it to Sales. This way, you can view all your created invoices, including the past months whether unpaid or paid.
Here's how:
Furthermore, you can check this article to record your invoice payment in QBO: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online
In addition, you'll want to track bills and record them in QBO, you can refer to this article: Enter and manage bills and bill payments in QuickBooks Online

Hello,
Thanks for your response, but as stated I'm specifically not looking to do this method. I would like to be able to see either cash or accrual as a widget...ie the total I've invoiced for a month/history vs the cash received. The latter of which is the only thing that I see available for the desktop/dashboard widget.

The option to add widgets or sales charts is in your Dashboard menu. This customizable section allows you to display the most relevant sales information at a glance without running a report.
Let me guide you through the process:
Once done, you'll immediately see the amounts of invoices that are unpaid, paid, undeposited, and deposited.
Another way to view your sales performance and invoices in QuickBooks Online is through the Overview tab under the Sales menu.
