Multiple Unit of Measure

Hello, @talk2khurram.

I hope you're doing well today. Allow me to share some information you how can set up a Multiple Unit of Measure of these types.

For now, you have to set kg as a measure type when purchasing the grease, then grams when selling the item. When creating your multiple units of measure, you can follow these steps:

  1. Select U/M Set List, from the Lists menu.a27 1.PNG
  2. Click on New from the U/M Set drop-down.a27 2.PNG
  3. Choose Weight (ounce, pound, kilogram, etc.), then Next.a27 4.PNG
  4. Tap Gram (g), then Next.a27 5.PNG
  5. Choose kilogram under the Base Unit section, then hit Next.a27 6.PNG
  6. On the Select Default Units of Measure, select kilogram beside Purchase, then gram for Sales, then hit Next.a27 7.PNG
  7. Set a name, then click Finish.a27 8.PNG

This article also shares the details about single and multiple units of measure for items, you can read the topics from here as additional guides.

After these steps, you can read our help articles in case you need related resources while working with QuickBooks.

Multiple Unit of Measure

Thank you for the screenshot you've provided, talk2khurram.

There are two Units of Measure modes in QuickBooks; Single U/M Per Item and Multiple U/M Per Item. The way to change a Unit of Measure depends on which of these modes is currently selected. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Edit menu, then Preferences.
  2. Select Items & Inventory, then go to the Company Preferences tab.
  3. Check the Unit of Measure section.

If you see the Enable button instead of Single U/M Per Item or Multiple U/M Per Item, the Unit of Measure is currently turned off. Select Enable to turn on, then select a mode.
