My banking data skipped 3 months in quickbooks. How do I get it to upload. It skipped from 3-15-24 to 6-25-24

Hello there, John.

We can manually upload your bank data for any skipped transactions in QuickBooks.

When you connect a bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO), the availability of past transaction data depends on your financial institution. Some banks limit downloads to the 90 days, while others allow up to 24 months. This may explain why transactions between March 15, 2024, and June 25, 2024, aren't visible.

If your bank does not provide data for this missing range, you can import the transactions manually into QBO to fill the gap. To do this, log in to your bank's website and download your transaction history in one of these formats: CSV, QBO, OFX, or QFX.

Ensure your file meets the following requirements before proceeding:

  • The file is in English and under 350 KB in size.
  • It should have either 3 columns (Date, Description, Amount) or 4 columns (Date, Description, Credit, and Debit).
  • Uses consistent date format (we recommend DD/MM/YYYY).
  • Avoid using the word "amount" in the Credit and Debit columns.
  • Leave cells with zero amounts blank.
  • Removes numbers from Description field.
  • Separates the day of the week from the date if included (e.g., split "20/11/2018 TUE" into two columns)

Once your file is ready, follow these steps to upload it to QuickBooks Online:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Select a bank account or choose Upload transactions if your account is not connected.
  3. In the Select account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  4. Upload the account statement file from your computer.
  5. Match the columns in the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  6. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Continue.
  7. Click Yes, then select Done.
