Can QB for Mac handle custom date formats of the macos? Like MMM/DD/YY (Dec/01/21).

If so, where in QB do you have to adjust the setting for it to accept the system's format?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about modifying the date format of your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac, Angel.

The option to change the date format of your QBDT Mac platform to Month abbreviation-Day-Year with leading zeroes (MMM/DD/YY, Dec/01/21) is not available. The platform only supports Month-Day-Year with leading zeroes (MM/DD/YY,12/01/21) format.

I understand having the option to change the date format of your QuickBooks can aid you in running your business efficiently. In the meantime, you can send your feedback to our Product Developer team. This way, they can review it and might consider adding this in the future updates. Let me guide you how.

  1. Click QuickBooks from the top menu.
  2. From the Preferences, select Feedback.
  3. Select the Enable sending usage data to Intuit check box.
  4. Then enter and send your suggestions.

Furthermore, you can always utilize these articles for future reference. These contain details on how to modify your reports and seamlessly know your ways around QBDT for Mac:

QuickBooks Mac will use the MacOS system date format.  You can set this in the Language & Region preferences under Apple Menu->System Preferences.  It is limited to six digit formats (ie.. no 4 digit years or use of words like "Saturday").

IntuitBrooks, thank you for your response. So far, I have not succeeded in getting QB Mac to use the MacOs system date format. It is all set in the Language & Region preferences but QB keeps giving me the message attached hereunder.

It will not even accept: MM/dd/yy. It keeps saying that it will use it standard dd/MM/yy.

Can you indicate how to get QB to do this?
