Receive warning message reading *** -[__NSPlaceholderDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:count:]: attempt to insert nil object from objects[0] when I attempted to save back-up QBB file (Accountant Copy) from Mac.
Hi David327,
Can you share with me the steps you've taken before receiving the warning message? On what page did you get this error?
I'll be keeping an eye on your response. Keep safe!
The steps are as follows: File - Save File for Accountant (QBB) - Verify - Verification Successful - Back-up to QuickBooks for Windows - Save as .qbb file in documents QB Back-up Folder - get fist error message (IMG_2235) and click OK - then it asked me to apply Password to protect file - enter password - OK - then I get an error message creating detailing a crash - requesting to send QB a report (attached) and shuts down QB. Thanks for your assistance.
Thanks for getting back to us, David327.
I appreciate you for adding a screenshot. It gives me a visual reference of your concern.
To resolve this, let's try running the verify and rebuild steps. These steps help to identify data-damaged.
You can check this article for the detailed steps of the process: Verify and Rebuild in QuickBooks Desktop.
Afterward, try backing up your data again.
I'll be around if there's anything that I can help. Keep safe!
Went through the verify data - no problems have been detected - went through the rebuild data - back-up successful (saved dmg file) to QB Back-up folder in my Documents files - reloaded data - 2 passes - reload and rebuild was completed - no issues.
Attaching is a file being generated by QB that is being sent with my email to QuickBooks advising them of my issue (crash) but to data have not received any response or acknowledgment. I hope you are able to view the attached file - it would not upload as it was an ips file so I tried to send it as a jpg file.
Hi @David327, I'll help save the backup copy.
I wasn't able to verify the screenshot you've mentioned since there is no file attached in the current reply you posted. This time, let's continue our troubleshooting steps to determine why you're unable to save the accountant's copy of your company data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
To begin with, we'll have to make sure to download and install the latest released version of QuickBooks for Mac. Let me show you how.
Here's an article to read and learn more about updating QuickBooks: How to Keep QuickBooks for Mac Up-to-Date?
However, if you're already working with the latest released version, it's best to offload QuickBooks by clicking Move to Trash on your desktop. Then, follow the second set of steps in this article and restart your iMac: How to Clean Install or Uninstall QuickBooks for Mac?
Once done, consider checking the system requirements before installing QuickBooks from scratch: Install and Set up QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
