old quickbooks database

we have a company which forgot their licence and validation keys for an old database I have recovered the quickbooks data,they brought in the old system unit and i have seen the database but if i try to open the data with quickbooks 2010 it says the data is too old for this version.

Is the file created on QBD 2005 or older version?

I'm here to help share some information regarding opening old data in QuickBooks Desktop 2010, george 2022.

QuickBooks Desktop has a 3-year lifecycle. You would need to go from 2005-2008, 2010-2013 up until the current version. Then, restore the file in between.
