Oops! We Found a problem. Error submitting filing electronically. Error reason: documentsData with an invalid value of null.

Hello there, valleypersonaltr.

Let's perform troubleshooting steps so you can fix the Oops! We Found a problem.Error submitting filing electronically. Error reason: documentsData with an invalid value of null message and file the W-2s in QuickBooks Online efficiently.

While a cache can speed up your browser, it can sometimes cause an unexpected error while filing W-2s in the program. I suggest accessing your QuickBooks using a private browser and filing the said form from there. This is to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue, and private browsing doesn't store local files or cache.

Use these keyboard shortcuts based on the browser you're using:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

If it works in incognito, you have to clear the cache of your regular browser. This deletes the history or log of sites so you can start with a clean slate. If the steps above don't work, use another supported browser as an alternative.

In case you need details about what affects the amounts in Boxes 1, 3, and 5 on your employees’ W-2s, you can read this article: Understand why W-2 box amounts are different.

Visit the Community again if you have any other questions or concerns about filing W2 in QBO. I’ll be right here to answer them for you, valleypersonaltr. Have a good one.

I had the same issue and neither the incognito mode in chrome nor using a different browser (microsoft edge) worked. Any additional recommendations?

How can we contact someone to talk too? I tried the above and it won't get anywhere except support articles.
