Oregon Transit District (LTD) and (Tri-Met) --connecting Payroll Item to Tax

Is it possible to connect Paytype/Payroll Items such as "Trimet Hours" to its local tax so it auto calculates?

Right now, if the tax is selected it gets applied to ALL of the hours worked, but our employees do not work exclusively in this tax area.

Having to manually calculate the tax when due in excel, would be nice to connect the tax to the paytype  so it only applies the tax for hours worked in that tax area.

Oregon Transit District (LTD) and (Tri-Met) --connecting Payroll Item to Tax

Thank you for posting your concern, @Mtangelbooks.Let me share more information about connecting the Oregon Transit district to payroll.

This feature is unavailable with QuickBooks Desktop. However, we can continue your workaround of manually calculating the tax in Excel. I know having this feature will help you run the payroll and the workflow effortlessly.

I suggest sending your feedback to our product engineers. This way, they can address the issue and consider incorporating your suggestions in future updates. I assure you that every opinion is considered and heard. You can follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon.
  3. Under Profile.
  4. Click Feedback.
  5. Provide your opinions and requests.
  6. Hit Next.
