Payroll Onboarding- Too many inactive employees to complete process.

2024 Enterprise Contractor diamond. I am trying to complete the payroll onboarding call process. The onboarding specialist looked at the number of employees (913 only 55 being active) and said I had too many employees and the file would probably crash if she moved on with the onboarding process. She suggested deleting employees-- but then I have to delete all their checks/transactions.

We started using Q.B. in 1999, so we have a lot of data obviously. I could get basically no help trying to resolve this with support.

Is the specialist correct? Do I have too many employees for the onboarding process?

What are my options? Does condensing actually lower the employee count?  I was getting errors trying to condense a test file, so I wasn't successful to test this myself.  I am running out of time as we are supposed to run payroll in 3 business days. Helppppp.

Hello ASMI1234,

Thank you for reaching out to the QuickBooks Community! Based on some feedback from our customers, they suggested not allowing QB Enterprise files to go over 1.5 GB. They recommend condensing the file. I did notice you mentioned you are getting an error message from doing this. Could you share the exact error message with me?

I will be looking forward to your response as we help you further. See you soon.

Thank you for responding. I was able to figure out and fix the errors.

Does condensing lower the employee total count?
