Thanks for getting back in this thread, @lloving.

I'll share some insights about importing customers from the point of Sale (POS) and syncing to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) during Financial Exchange.

To start, you'll want to double-check the following format of your spreadsheet for a smooth importing process:

  • There should be no dashes in empty excel fields
  • Remove blank rows and columns
  • Delete hidden columns
  • Don't use formulas, hyperlinks, and special characters i.e.: @,#,$,%,&,*
  • Use "clear contents" instead of deleting info separately

Then,  ensure to input Yes in the Use with QuickBooks section of the spreadsheet. For more information about this, refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale: Import and Export overview.

Also, since you want to sync the list of your customers into the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program, you can enable the Use with QuickBooks option in the Company Preferences if you haven't already. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Preferences.
  2. Click Company, then choose the Customers section.
  3. Select Yes under the Use with QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Technical Support Team to report this issue. They have the tools to securely look into your account and can do further investigation into this behavior.

Additionally, I've included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) FAQs.

If you still have questions or concerns about importing customers into POS, I'm just around to help you out. Don't hesitate to reply. Have a great day ahead!

POS Finance Exchange

I’ve got a solution for you to ensure customers and items get imported, @lloving.

To start, let’s check if you encounter errors during a Financial Exchange between QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I’m glad to show you the steps:

  1. In POS, go to the Financial menu, then choose Financial Center.
  2. Under the Review Activity section, select View Activity Log.
  3. If you see an error, follow the troubleshooting steps in this reference: Fix 3000 status code errors.

Otherwise, you can use the Recover Data function to bring in transactions. Please know that this is a manual method of transferring your data. It might duplicate your entries or customers list.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Financial, then select Financial center.
  2. Click Show Advanced Options.
  3. Proceed with Recover Data Now.
  4. Press Continue on the warning message.
  5. Enter the date range.
  6. Type Yes in the confirmation window and select Continue.

Here are the resources to help you learn more about the connection between POS and QBDT:

Happy to assist you again if you have more concerns about the integration process. Just let me know in the comment section below. Keep safe always!

No the issue still exists. The main issue is importing 1500 customers into POS and then from POS to QBDT.
if I enter a customer in POS manually that customer imports into QBDT as expected through the Financials tab.
if I import customers into POS via the QB import template those customers do not flow through to QBDT via the Financials tab.

My issue persists.
I have found if I enter a customer in to POS “manually” that customer does flow through to QBDT via Financial exchange. If I import a customer into POS using the default spreadsheet template that customer does not flow to QBDT using Financial Exchange.

I have one observation to add. When importing from the QuickBooks POS default template the column for using this customer with Desktop does not import.

Just a heads up.
