Hello,
I am trying to print 1099-Rs from out company quickbooks file. I was told by a representative that if I upgraded to quickbooks 2022 I would be able to, but I am still not seeing how to do this.
I'm starting to feel I was mislead which if so is very disappointing.
Hi there, shabagel.
I understand that you need to print this tax form. Currently, QuickBooks Desktop doesn't support printing and filing of 1099-R tax forms (Form 1099-R, Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, and Insurance Contracts).
For now, you'll want to consider using a third-party application that can import your data from QBDT and map it to 1099-R. Feel free to visit our QuickBooks App Market to find one. Alternatively, you can also download a copy of the form from the IRS website and then manually fill up the fields.

That's disappointing since a quickbooks representative at the [removed by moderator] assured me that the 2021 version could and that's the entire reason we upgraded. Thanks for your response none the less!
Do you know of a item on the App Market that would allow for this? I am going to have around ~50 so would ideally like to avoid doing manually.
I know that this hasn't been easy is for you, shabagel.
There are plenty of third-party applications that can integrate with QuickBooks Desktop. Although, we're unable to specifically recommend which one to use. You may try entering a keyword in the search bar to filter the results or search for some reviews online.
Before purchasing or subscribing to any services, I suggest trying their trial options available to ensure that you'll find all of the features you need.

Can we please get an update on providing 1099-R? Has this been added since this thread began in January of last year? If not, when is the ETA?
Thank you.
Ann
Thank you for getting back to us, @Rubicon02.
I understand how important and convenient this is for you. For now, we are unable to provide a time frame for when the system will be updated at this time. Please know that our engineers are hard at work on an update. I'd also look at this into customer requests for future QuickBooks product improvements.

Does the online version of Quickbooks support creating a 1099-R?
Hello there, @JENN_L.
Currently, generating a 1099-R in QuickBooks Online isn't available. You can only create and file 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms with QBO.
That said, you'll want to consider using a third-party application to import data from QBO and map it to the 1099-R form. Alternatively, manually fill in the fields after downloading the document from the IRS website.
While this option isn't possible, sending a feature request to our Product Development Team would be a great way to help improve your experience. They can review your suggestions and make some adjustments in the next update. Here's how:
