When I try to Sign in from QB Desktop 2020, it fails with a "Login Failed!!" dialog.
I know the login is correct because I can login to my account on the Intuit website (which is required to post something here). Any ideas?
Can you share a screenshot of when asked for your password? As I know, you only need to use a password to open your company file on QB Desktop 2020. You don't need to use your Intuit account credential.
I can see that you're having trouble accessing your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company, and I appreciate the screenshot you've shared, @dalbert. Let's discuss your QBDT version and find steps to resolve your login issue so you can get back to managing your finances smoothly.
Since you've confirmed that your login credentials are correct and can access the Intuit website, could you specify the exact area where you attempted to access your account? Providing more information will be greatly appreciated as this will help me assist you more effectively.
Meanwhile, if you're trying to manage your account within your QBDT company, please be advised certain actions may not be accessible since the QBDT version you're utilizing is no longer supported.
However, you can still manage your business details and subscriptions or update payment methods by visiting the Intuit website.
Additionally, if you wish to continue accessing our QuickBooks add-on services and critical updates, consider upgrading to a supported version. This upgrade will not only enhance your experience but also provide you with the latest features and security improvements necessary for optimal performance.
In case you forget your password in the future, please refer to this guide. It will provide you with the necessary steps to reset your password and regain access to your account: What to do if you lost or forgot your password for QBDT.
You can rely on me if you have more questions about managing your account in QBDT. I’d be delighted to engage with you further in the comments section. Take care and have a wonderful day.
@dalbert Maybe a programmer got a bit overeager, but in my experience, when messages show up that look like they were written by a comic book author or excited teenager, it usually ends up being a precursor to a scam.
There has been precedent for computers being compromised and appearing to show messages from QuickBooks. You might want to have an IT person look over your computer. The double exclamation point (!!) does not belong in professional accounting software.
Thank you for the quick reply!
I was prompted to login to my intuit account by the software; I think it said that it required a login every two weeks. When that login failed, I subsequently tried by clicking on the Sign in button in the top right corner of the application window:
Then the following window opens:
I'm not sure I actually do need to login because the desktop application seems to work anyway.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
