And, I have spent hours with support agents, created tickets, etc and to no avail. I was waiting to see if anyone else was having an issue and to post something regarding this because the agents pretty much blamed the issues on my system. WHICH IS NOT THE CASE. I am not a computer idiot, so then there is that, because they cannot just blame this on me when I have troubleshooted every thing I can and waiting for a fix. This has been happening since I downloaded the program, back when it came out. Do you have any updated info on this? Thank you.
Exactly my answer as well. I feel so much comfort in the money we spend on this and the support we get (NOT)...it is a program issue and needs to be fixed. Or, please give me money back for all the frustration of a product I pay LOTS of money for and doesn't do what it is supposed to do. Period.
Good folks, you are wasting your key strokes. QuickBooks has intentionally placed numerous bugs in the system to force us to Onine. They have no intention of fixing Desktop. THIS IS ON PURPOSE. The only response they will listen to from us is CLASS ACTION SUIT!
I hate the online version as well! Besides my internet is unreliable! I will use another company before I use QBO.
I'm down. Anyone else?
I knew they were going to do this and I figured it was inevitable. I planned on just going to another program. Sage, most likely.
Hi - I am having the same issue. Just wondering if the problem was ever resolved for you or if you switched to Sage?
...and just FYI just finished with qb tech support regarding crashing when trying to run payroll and result was this issue is an ongoing investigation with the engineering department they are still working on this INV-87838. There is nothing else they can do since it's a closed loop investigation!? The first post I read about this was March it is now June and no fix!! WTH QB! Payroll is a big deal so going to have to move on.
I've been having the same issues since upgrading to 2023 - QB has crashed 3 times this week alone. It happens randomly and does not depend on what I'm doing. It is very frustrating - considering a switch to Sage Intacct.
This is really getting ridiculous. I can recreate the crash 100% of the time by hitting esc. I also discovered yesterday if you have the Pay Bills open, hit ctrl F, pull up a bill, make a change to the amount, alt A to close, it also will crash 100% of the time. If you go to the Home Screen first and then do those steps, it will not crash. Hopefully that helps someone. Are they trying to get us to use the mouse and not keyboard shortcuts so we will like QBO more?? This is so inefficient! I can’t do my job quickly when I can’t use the keyboard shortcuts and hit esc to close out of windows. Intuit NEEDS to fix this!!

I noticed when I am paying bills in the pay bills window that if I am sorting by reference number and have to go to a bill and edit it , upon saving the edited bill my program crashes. This makes reconciliation take forever.
I am so frustrated.
That’s interesting that it crashes when you have it sorted by reference number. I always sort by reference number so I hadn’t made that correlation yet. I will try sorting differently next week and see if it crashes when I pay bills. The bills I pay have at least 50 invoices to select so it’s so extremely frustrating when I have to start all over every time it crashes.
Not yet, takes so much time and I am busy on ERC applications but I am going to look ahead to when I can do this. Like I am thinking in August. With payroll, there isn't ever a good time. I am so annoyed with QB that they are forcing us to QBO. Why not have both running? Corp greed is going to kill this nation.
I tried the web version and switched back to desktop, so much better. While they appear to be forcing users to switch, I understand the difficulty in supporting both platforms.
SirielJeaB QuickBooks Team: Please stay off all these boards if you have nothing intelligent to say!
QB is trying to force everyone to the online version because the desktop version issues are too numerous and costly. They would rather spend your hard earned money redoing the invoice, purchase orders, paystub verbiage and design and everything else that is stupid and not fixing what NEEDS FIXED. It's just a slimy way for them to justify pissing away your dollars and telling you how great they are look what we've done!
I had used online and switched back. It is like the old DOS programming and very cheaply done. This is why they want you to use it. It's not costing them anything. They are thieves ~ stilling your money and not providing what you pay for AND creating problems and not fixing what needs fixed.
QB used to be reputable NOT ANYMORE!
By the way, our system crashing for no reason. Making any kind of change, it does the circle and then closes. IT SUCKS!
QUICKBOOKS GET IT TOGETHER - YOU CREATED THIS ISSUE NOT FIX IT!
My QB crashes at random times. Without any interaction. Freezes 1st and few minutes later disappears. About every 30 minutes.
Started after latest QB22 update. I upgraded to 23 and still the same. Tried QBO - hate it with passion.
I'm trueing to find any patterns with other "victims" to get any clues. If you can post your OS, MS Office version, Event log errors, etc. Maybe it will provide a clue to us and developers.
Mine: Dell with Intel i-7-7700 processor, Windows10 Pro 22H2, , MS Office 365 (version 2306). Installed IE11, Edge, Chrome browsers

Please share if you have similar symptoms.
I went through every fix in the QB hub, Repair installation, PC health scans, .NET re-install, etc. to no avail.
I'm considering purchasing brand new PC and do a fresh install on the virgin machine. Anybody tried this?

I tried a new computer and I still have the same issue with my program crashing while trying to pay bills.
I contacted support again and they say it is a problem with my file as it doesn't do it in sample companies.
I have sent my file to them for a second time to try to fix it. I now have to wait until I get it back to get anything done.
Good luck and hope someone intelligent gets you file to review.
If they are stating it's a file issue you may need to do a verify and rebuild. I've had clients in the past where the file gets corrupted along the way - usually from aborts (yes, QB's issue) This process should be able to correct any corrupted files. Sorry, not sure if you already tried this but if not, this would be your best bet over waiting for QB to review your file and get back to you.
Yes, I have verified and rebuilt data multiple times.
My case may be different, but I have 5 companies on QB. It crashes regardless of the file.
Did you clone the old computer to new, or was it a fresh install?
I'm curious if you had similar symptoms, event log errors as mine.
We want to get the best help for you, @AAutoIt. It looks like you've already exhausted all the troubleshooting to get this fixed.
Since your books continue to crash after troubleshooting with the Verify/Rebuild utilities and QuickBooks Tool Hub, you'll want to get in touch with our Customer Care team directly.
