I finally sent my file to QB because they insisted it was a problem with my file. They sent it back to me "Fixed" when actually they found no problems with my file. I kept having the same problem of my program crashing when trying to pay statements. I went through all the steps with their support AGAIN last week and they came to the conclusion that something was wrong with my file. I sent them my file again. Two days later they finally admitted that there is an inherent problem with QB desktop 2021-2023 that they have not fixed. There was nothing wrong with my file. They suggested that I try not to sort my bills by reference number until they can fix the issue, UGH! Paying bills now takes several hours.
AAuto: I'm really happy you are finally getting some resolve. It's pathetic what QB puts their paying customer through and the garbage we have to put up with. Congrats and hopeful they will get this completely resolved.
Now on to my next issue with them.....@*(#&(^$(&)$*$)($*
Update on "pressing ESC button to close FIND window crashes program": the QuickBooks engineers have fixed this problem. Thank you!
Update to "Pressing ESC button to close FIND window crashes 2023 QBDT": this problem is now fixed. Thank you!
Well, at least they fixed one thing to prevent it from crashing. Still crashes when I look at if funny.
That's funny - I needed a laugh.
As of this morning I'm dealing with the Latest QB Disaster - Can't process credit cards....BAM...just like that out of nowhere. But, God Bless Their Little Hearts - they are working on it!
Hello, QB keeps crashing on windows 11, went through all steps, countless hours with QB tech support. There is no error. I have bought a brand new $ 2000 machine to try to fix this issue but no. Even checked company file, changed company file location, changed company file name, did all updates, still same issue. If anyone finds a fix, please let me KNOW!!! Finally they advised me that we should switch to QB Online version.
It is literally the bain of my existence and I curse this program every day because it crashes at least once a day. And QB don't give two sh*ts about fixing it. They want to rule the world with their UNBEARABLY HORRIBLE, MONEY SUCKING, BUBBLY, NON-ACCOUNTING online crap. Thanks for listening.
I'm afraid to jinks it, but my crashes stopped. I had the QB 22 and 23 crashing every 20 min, for months.
After I ran the update for FedEx Ship Manager the crashed stopped. For two weeks now - no crashes. Go figure! They must have some shared libraries that conflicted. If you have this software from FedEx running on your PC - check for updates.
Hello, I feel your frustration. Wow, I also have FedEx Ship Manager Software but my version is a little different. It is 37.09 instead of .51 as your photo attached. I really wonder if that was the case, because on my personal laptop QB Desktop Pro 2023 worked fine and QB Desktop Premier 2021 worked fine, but on my office desktop where I had installed the FedEx Ship Manager Software installed it would crash everyday at 11:00 am and then at 2:30 pm and thereafter every 30 minutes especially when it is idle. However, I did not run FedEx Ship Manager software and QB at the same time, so when a program is closed, not sure why still QB would freeze and then I would have to end task it to open another one. Even when the QB Support would be on the phone, they would be surprised that if let idle for more than 30 minutes, QB would freeze and we would not even have any other program be running.
Now I am tempted to uninstall Ship Manager Software and Reinstall QB desktop to see if that fixes the issue for now atleast.
@jburke17Hey,

Do you have a license for QB Desktop 2023 Pro Plus or Mac Plus for a single user?
This same error has been happening to me. I also have a work around. We are on our way out the door and go live 1/1/24. Good luck!
We bought 4 new lenovo laptops with windows 11. Trying to install QB 2023 with no luck. Had the hard drive replaced in one of the laptops as well as the motherboard and still didn't work. On telephone with QB support allowing them to enter my computer remotely and after 3 hours the tech asked me to hold on and I waited. After 15 minutes she hung up. Paying for QB 2023 and only able to use it on windows 10!
Oh and tried to install in compatibility mode and that too failed with same error. Again if anyone in this thread has any ideas please help. QB just takes the money!
I totally agree. I took the bullet and switched to online. Can't have a business not running due to software issues.
Yes, I tried this and no help. I spent $ 2k on a new machine and same issues kept crashing and then signing back on. The program would just freeze if let idle for a bit. Then switched to online.
Do you have QB Desktop 2023 Premier or Enterprise?
Let me provide insights regarding installing QuickBooks Desktop 2023 (QBDT) in Windows 11, @Hairman.

Note that you can install the program without any problems, but if difficulties are encountered, you can download the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub for a fix. Let me show you how:

What happens when you try to install?
Mine crashes after left idle but I didn't install on Windows 11, updated 10 to 11 (foolishly!!) and I didn't know that there was a period that I could go back w/out paying or reformatting.
I didn't know that you had the option to not upgrade to windows 11, they keep throwing updates and most of the time the laptops now with windows 11 keep updating all the time. I was on Windows 10 but I think mine updated in end of May 2023 to Windows 11. Issue was on my laptop Windows 11, QB Desktop Premier would work fine for hours without any issues. It was my office desktop which was having issues. I read in a thread that it was due to FedEx Ship Manager Software someone said because that was the only software not installed on my office desktop. We need the FedEx ship manager software so it was like go online to QB or not have the Ship manager software.
Is it time to go to Sage, is my question.
I am currently on QBO Plus. Their subscription is going to end and it will cost $ 1000 for annually. I had a company pitch me Sage-100 and that is too technical I believe. I am going to do a demo with Sage-50 Quantum Accounting those are $ 1610/year. But if you call they give you a discount, because last year they offered it to me for $ 1368/year. What is your opinion on this Sage-50? It says it is 1/user but now it says Users 1-5 on the bottom so will have to ask. Also will all the data transfer from QBO or QBD to Sage-50? Because in Sage-100 you lose a lot of data such as old invoices, old purchase orders, only financials, customers, and sku's come over.
