Does anyone have insight to this problem and/or how to resolve it ?
Hello there, JackatLCM.
I appreciate the effort of sharing some the details of this problem. I'm here to help you fix issues that causes QuickBooks Desktop to stop working.
To start, we can run Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will fix common issues when running QuickBooks Desktop. If you don't have QuickBooks Tool Hub yet, you can follow the steps to download, install, and run the QuickBooks Tools Hub.
Here's how:
After that, start QuickBooks Desktop by running it as Administrator and update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. This ensures that you have the latest recent fixes and security updates.
I'm adding this article for future reference: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.
Please let me know how this goes or if you have concerns QuickBooks Desktop. I'll keep an eye on your response. Take care!
Thank you for the reply. I did as you suggested and downloaded the QuickBooks Tool hub and executed the Quick fix program. It did not resolve the problem. Then I went to the next level and ran the Program Diagnostic Tool which reloaded several C libraries. Still no solution. Finally, I started QB desktop, logged in, and immediately opened the help menu which for some reason prevents QB from crashing. I checked the updates section and was able to load what was called "Critical Updates". Unfortunately, this did not resolve the crashing problem either. However, I did see a new error message in in the Windows Application log addition to the original QB message. Both are listed below. Any further insights you may have would be appreciated.
Thank you.
JackatLCM
