QB File Doctor

My computer lost power when I had my company file open, now when I open my company file, it asks for my password then says QB lost connection to the company file. It's a local file. I downloaded the toolhub and file doctor will not launch. Please help.

Create a dummy file or open a sample one to make your QBD is able running normally. Which QB Desktop year version do you have?

QB File Doctor

I can open the sample company just fine. I lost power when my file was open now I get the attached error. I downloaded the toolhub but file doctor will not run, not happens when clicked except a status bar which disappears.

Desktop Pro 2020. I loast power and now get the attached error. File Doctor will not run from ToolHub.

Hi @northnet  , make sure you got the internet connection, clear cache and browsing history, then try to open QBD. I suggest you to use verify and rebuild utilities if no work. Here is how to verify data: 

  1. Choose Window then Close All.
  2. Verify Data. Choose File then Utilities. Select Verify Data

And for rebuild data:

  • Choose File, Utilities then Rebuild Data.

These options are not available until you open the company file, which I can not do.

Next step for troubleshoot, install the trial license on another machine and copy the QBW file. Try opening the company file or running the Tool Hub. If the same error persists, your file is damaged. Call and ask Support to fix it. Otherwise, consider purchasing a 3rd party file repair service.
