QB Online - multiple companies under one sibscription?

hi QB Community -- I am a bookkeeper working with four partners and managing their individual S-corps' finances. I want to set them up with individual QBO accounts, but when I try to use my existing email/ user ID to set this up, an error is returned since my user name/ email is already "taken".

Since the user ID is asking for an email address (and I can't create new email addresses to manage these accounts), how do I set up and manage these individual accounts?

many thanks!

Liza

Hi @Lizaluuu,

Welcome to the Community. Thanks for reaching out. You can absolutely have multiple companies with the same User ID/Email.

Once you have selected the correct version of QBO, on the sign-up page, at the bottom of the page look for “Adding a company to an existing account?” Sign in

Sign in with your email and password and that will add the new company to your current log-in. To switch between companies when you're in QuickBooks:

  1. Select Settings ⚙.
  2. Click Switch company.

I’ll leave you this article with details about adding a company: Create or add another company

@Lizaluuu

Do you have any QBSE or QBO Accountant account? You can only use the same email address to manage QBO accounts.

QB Online - multiple companies under one sibscription?

thanks, Monica! I followed these steps and it worked for me! It's a bit nerve wracking, since the site asks for payment before acknowledging a new company set-up. But I suspended disbelief, and it worked out. Thanks a million!
