Join nowNot able to enter QB password from Remote Desktop Connection (RDP)
I retained a person to enter data in QB from a remote location. She has access to our local Window machine via RDP on her Mac. When she attempts to enter her password in QB it is rejected with an error message stating passwords are case sensitive. I can logon to that RDP server from a Windows machine or a Mac I can enter the password successfully.
If I open QB using her password and leave QB open, she can logon to the RDP server and enter data from her Mac without error.

Thanks for sharing the details you’ve done on your end, @krwessel.
There’s a possibility that your retained person entered the password incorrectly. Thus, she received a prompt message that passwords are case sensitive.
You’ll want to ensure that your network and password are set up and entered correctly. This way, she'll be able to log in to your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software via Remote Desktop Connection (RDP).
In case you’re using a 3rd party app, ensure the connection is set up correctly for each device to avoid any errors.

Thanks for your suggestions. I believe she entered the password correctly. I tried entering her password personally two or three times via a Team Viewer session and got the same error message.

I am the IT person and I have asked myself to respond with more information.
When my new employee could not get her password to work I was watching her remotely on Team Viewer. After a couple of tries, I entered the password from my computer, via Team Viewer, with the same result. I then closed RDP and opened a different RDP session from a different computer. I opened QB, entered my new employee's password and it worked. I then Xed out of RDP, without closing QB. She the opened RDP with QB already open with her login credentials and was able to enter data. This approach works consistently but it is a waste of my time.
