Buy now & saveI am running QBD 2024 Pro. In backing up the file today, Intuit Protect had a new version, which I installed. Intuit Protect proceeded to back up my QBD file and everything in my Documents folder. I cancelled the backup and the error message was that QBD had errors and the balance of the backup was cancelled. The QBD error was that the file was open and could not be backed up. How are we to back up a single file without including the entire drive?

Thank you for bringing this matter to us, Judy. I've got a way to back up your file without including the entire drive, and I'm here to help you achieve that.
First, please ensure no other users are accessing the file and the necessary updates for QuickBooks are installed so it can be backed up without including unnecessary data from the entire drive.
Moreover, if you haven't, consider backing up your files and folders manually. This can help you store copies of your files in various locations, such as external drives or cloud storage, reducing the risk of data loss from a single point.

Thank you, Sherrie, for your reply. First of all, I do not have Intuit Protect installed as a separate program. And there does not seem to be a way to manually backup my database within the parameters given by IP withing the QBD program. I usually prefer to backup my files manually, so instructions on how to go about that would be helpful. There has been, before the current updates, a way to manually backup the file to the location of my choosing, but it seems to have been replaced by Intuit Protect. Is there a way to get around IP and just do a normal backup?
