Join nowAfter setting up a new company in QBPOS and importing inventory items we are finding this inconsistency:
When Making a Sale some Inventory items when selected trigger a popup windows asking for the quantity some don't. After some checking we noticed in some cases you get a window asking for a quantity for this sale and sometimes you don't, regardless of the quantity on hand status.
We would like the POS Make A Sale function to require a quantity on every inventory item when added to a sale. Regardless of the Quantity On Hand.
Is that possible.

The closest menu item I can find that relates to the steps you outlined in your reply were these:
Inventory > New Quantity Adjustment > New Quantity Adjustment Memo
I don't see a selection or drop down for Inventory Adjustment Account, am I in the wrong place?
Another note, I am using the desktop version of QBPOS not Online
Thanks for getting back to the thread, lloving.
I understand how important it is to maintain track of the quantity of each inventory item when it is added to a sale. In your case, there are times when you get a window asking for a quantity for a particular transaction, and others do not. I suggest verifying the user preference in the General section that says Bring back all one time messages. You'll want to enable it to restore the popup and warnings for some areas in QuickBooks Point of Sale.
Here's how:
Please visit this article if you wish to verify or link the on-hand item amounts in your inventory by doing a physical count: Perform a Physical Inventory.
