Quickbooks for Mac 2019
Some times when creating CC charges (items not expenses) and assigning them to a Customer Job but not wanting to mark them as billable. Upon saving the transaction on some items the Billable check box will mark itself. If you uncheck and save and come back to the CC charge, it will be checked again. Usually it seems to be checked on the last item entered. Typical resolution is to add an additional item (dummy item), uncheck the box on the last pertinent item, save the CC transaction, then reopen it and remove the dummy item. Usually at that time the other (good) items will now be correctly unchecked. I have be using QBMac for a long time. It seems that this issue started with QBMac 2019.
Anybody else encounter this issue?

Hello, LThibx.
I’m here to help fix the challenges you’ve encountered upon making them as billable in QuickBooks Desktop. To isolate this case, we can perform troubleshooting steps to fix the issue. Also, I've conducted research here and check with our engineering team and haven't found any similar issues with it.
There are some reasons why this occurs, which may cause damage data, and we can fix this by performing the Verify data and Rebuild utility tools in QuickBooks Desktop for MAC. This way, it'll return to its default order and automatically fixes minor company record data issues.
If the program is in multi-user mode, you need to change to single-user mode (Go to File -> Switch to Single User Mode). It is very important that you have to create a backup copy of your company file before running Verify and Rebuild Data.
Verify Data:
Note: If the verify process is successful, you are done. In case it fails due to some problem, QuickBooks will notify you to run Rebuild data.
Rebuild Data:
You can refer to this article for a complete guide on the process of performing the steps: Verify and rebuild data in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Also, we need to make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop for MAC has the latest release. There are two ways to download the update. You can either perform the process within the software or download the patch through the website. Please refer to this article for further guidance: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
As always, you can reach out to our QuickBooks Support team if you need further assistance with this. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment and help you navigate using one of their tools then run a set of examinations to amend the underlying issue.
Please don't hesitate to reach back out to me if there's anything else you need. I want to ensure that everything has been taking care of. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
Hi@AileneA ,
I followed the procedures outlined in verifying and rebuilding data.
Also, I checked for updates. I am on latest release: QB for Mac 2019 18.0.7.3386 R8.1
I performed some testing, here is my findings:
What I describe below normally comes from memorized transactions, but I tested with creating a new transaction manually and receive the same results.
As I stated earlier, I don't believe it is specific to using a memorized transaction, as I receive the same behavior when creating the transaction manually.
I am willing to have a Zoom meeting and share my screen with support to demonstrate this. I would not be in favor of uploading my file anywhere. I would hope this may be reproducible by support.
Thanks
Lonnie
