Join nowCan't manually import bank transactions file, CSV, QIF, into QB
I'm trying to import web connect or a CVS into a couple of bank accounts. the downloaded file options from the bank do not match with the import acceptable options for QB.
Downloaded files from bank; CVS, QIF, & QFX , (which appears to be quicken file)
Import options given by QB; (File>utilities>import>web connect file) QBO
And when it trying the excel option; (File>utilities>import>Excel file), I'm brought to either, customer file or item list.
Seeing how quicken and QB are the same company, there should be a utility conversion tool.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Yes, QuickBooks won't import any of these formats. Intuit does not offer any sort of file conversion utilities.
To import a QFX file, you can convert it to a QBO file using our BRC OFX Cleaner
To import a CSV file, you can convert it to an IIF file using our BRC IIF Transaction Creator Pro
To import a QIF file, you can convert it to an IIF file using our BRC QIF to IIF Converter or a QBO file using our BRC QIF to OFX/QFX/QBO Converter
Yes, this is a possible solution. But, it is an unacceptable one. Since when has it been permitted for a 3rd party ( brconsultingid2 AKA Big Red Consulting) to solicit for profit there own products on this forum?
We pay enough for this QB software, and being forced to upgrade every 3 years for minimal improvements to none is shameful. And to take away features because you don't pay for the upgrade is unethical.
I understand where you're coming from. However, Intuit decided long ago that QB simply won't do everything and that they'd rely on 3rd party partners/developers to build special purpose apps that work with QuickBooks.
Intuit has just never built the ability to import transactions from CSV or QIF files, and instead opted for IIF files from the beginning 23 years ago - and then later QBO files.
Note that with Pro and Premier you only have to upgrade if you use Intuit's services, like payroll or the merchant service. And if you do, their cost is so much more in most cases the upgrade probably isn't even noticed (not justifying it, just perspective.)
While this may seem shameful to you, it is rather typical in the software industry, partially because it also isn't reasonable to - for example - expect Intuit to support all older versions of QuickBooks for these services, which would become untenable after awhile.
In our case for example, we technically support the latest builds of our tools, and if you see an issue with an older one, we'll ask you to upgrade. But, it is always free to upgrade to our latest builds - which have more features and the latest fixes.
You should utilize this app to convert any downloaded file of CSV, OFX, QFX, QIF, or PDF from your bank to QBO.
