Quickbooks Desktop Data Protect - email confirmations not working

I have QB Desktop 2024 Premier.  I have QB Data Protect set up and working.  I runs reliably each day but I stopped getting the confirmation emails.   I have the box checked to send ALL of the different email confirmations but no emails are recieved.  I used to work some months ago but now does not.  

 

Any ideas?

Moreover, I recommend checking your device's firewalls and antivirus programs aren't blocking your access, as this can affect data messages.

 

If so, you can change your settings to allow these emails. To do so, here's how:

 

  1. Click your Windows key and type Firewall.
  2. Choose Allow an app through Windows Firewall, then Allow another app.
  3. Go to Browse, then Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Intuit\Data Protect.
  4. Navigate to QBIDPservice.exe, then Open.
  5. Pick the Network types and tick the Private checkbox, then Select Add.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the files IBUenghost.exe and IntuitDataProtect.exe.

I am having the same issue and followed the instructions as per SheandL which the file names were already included. Did you find a solution to this?

I'm also having this problem.  It's been happening for probably the last year.  The emals used to come regularly, now they don't come at all.  Would like a solution to this.

amontford, seems like we can't get anyone to get us an answer to our question. 

For something that has worked perfectly for years to all of a sudden stop working, should be something that can be fixed easily, for it should be something that has changed on their end, just my thinking.

Agreed.  I have been frustrated about it for a while and just decided to search it today.  I used to be able to log out and log back in and the emails would come again, but that doesn't work anymore.

Since you both are still not receiving email confirmations from Intuit Data Protect despite following the solutions in this thread, I recommend contacting our Technical Support team. They can create a case to investigate and resolve the issue quickly. To do this, follow these steps:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select the Contact Us button.
  4. Enter a brief description of your concern in the What can we help you with? field and click ContinueContact QBDT Support (US).png
  5. Sign in to your Intuit account and select Continue. Then, click Continue with my account.
  6. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
  7. Choose a way to connect (Chat or Callback).

 

Additionally, your Intuit Data Protect offers 100 GB of backup capacity. Once you reach this limit, you'll need to free up space by reducing your file size to continue saving your data.
