Hi there, Super.

Restoring file to a newer version of POS may take a while if you have a large file or if there're data issues.

Also, make sure that your restoring the file on the server workstation (where the file is locally saved) to prevent file damage during conversion. You can also check out this article for more details: Resolve company data issues when restoring a backup file.

In addition, our phone support can help you check why it's taking a while to restore your data to the new version. Here's how to reach out to them:

  1. Go to this link: https://community.intuit.com/browse/payments-contact-us.
  2. Look for Intuit Point of Sale (QuickBooks Desktop).

Visit us again in the Community if you have other questions. Thanks!

Quickbooks Desktop POS

Suggestions were great. I finally got both QB desktop and QB POS to connect.

I can see my customeres and vendors from my QB Desktop data.

However, how can I import or use my existing Item list into QB POS.

Please help again!!

Good day, @Super.

I'm glad the suggestions work for you. Allow me to chime in and help share some information about importing your item list into QB POS.

You can import and export information in your file using MS Excel. However, you'll need to make sure to follow templates and formats to prevent errors when transferring the data. Let me route you to this helpful article for the steps in importing data: Import and Export overview for QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale.

This will get you on the right track.

I'll be here to help you further if you have other questions about the import process. Please don't hesitate to reach out anytime. :)

In Qb POS go to Financial on the top menu, then Financial Center.

Click on Show Advanced Options.

On the next page choose Import Items.

This will give you the opportunity to import all of the items from the items list, or just the ones you want in POS.
