I was preparing an invoice in advance and decided to click the Send Later button. I was not asked for a date and the invoice closed. Shouldn't I be prompted to choose a date/time? I'm confused.

Thanks for coming back for more support, @radar-9628. At the moment, the option to automatically send e-mail invoices is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
However, you can create recurring invoices and memorize the transaction. Let me guide you with these steps:
Then, manually send your memorized transactions once you get a reminder about their due.
As an alternative, you can search for a third-party app that can help you send scheduled recurring transactions on the QBDT Apps website.
You can also read through this article to learn more about creating and modifying memorized transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know if you have additional concerns. I'll be right here to help you.
Hello radar-9628!
Welcome and thanks for asking for help with the Send later option.
The Send later option is just an indication that an invoice is meant to be sent at a later time. It's up to you when are you gonna send it. And also, when an invoice is set to way, it will be included when you send transactions in batches. File > Send Forms > Invoice.
In addition, you may not send an invoice even it's indicated to be sent later.
Let me know if you have other questions in mind. Take care always!
I don't send invoices in batches. I was hoping I could schedule it in advance as a convenience to me. I only generate a few invoices at a time but don't send each one until the day before I do the work.
