Buy nowTitle says it all. But FWIW, yes, the rent payment account is tracked for 1099 MISC and all payments were made from it.
This is my first time trying to save a few bucks by running the QB(O) 1099s myself rather than pay my accountant (who I now have to pay to fix this mess). But for future reference, where was it that I was supposed to choose which form to use? I don't recall seeing that. I know there was a preview which I did look at, but all I wanted to see was the names and numbers.
Hi, CreativePrinter, thank you for reaching out about this concern. Let me help you resolve the issue with the incorrect 1099 form generated in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you’ve already filed the form, you’ll need to wait for IRS acceptance before submitting a corrected version. To check the status of your 1099, you can follow these steps:
Here's how to file the corrected form:
For further details about filing corrected forms, refer to this article: Correct or change 1099s.
In case the form was rejected, you’ll need to void and refile the forms instead, using the guidance from this article: Fix rejected 1099 forms.
If you haven’t filed the form yet, please check this article: Troubleshoot missing contractors or wrong amounts on 1099s.
To assist with future 1099 filings, I recommend following Option 2: Prepare with QuickBooks Help section in this guide: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Online.
It provides a step-by-step walkthrough for selecting the correct form and filing through QBO.

I'm using QB Payroll, so it was e-filed automatically and showed as accepted nearly immediately.
No corrections available on the 1099 page, I am guessing because corrected forms are not accepted by the IRS until February, which is why I would like to be able to issue the proper form now and then correct the wrong one to $0 once that can be done next month. Kind of moot as I've already tossed it into my accountants lap. But it would be fine information to know if such a thing is possible in QBO.
Hi, @CreativePrinters.
The 1099 correction feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is currently unavailable, with the functionality expected to become available in February 2026.
Once the correction window opens, you can directly make adjustments to the previously filed forms within QBO.
