QuickBooks Online unauthorized access

  • Apparently Quickbooks has not dealt with the problem of QBO payroll being hacked.  2 of our clients QBO files were hacked and bank accounts changed and payroll direct deposits paid out to fraudulent accounts.  Our clients banks were able to refund the money to their account but not Quickbooks.  Quickbooks is closing down the client QBO accounts until they are reimbursed for lost funds.  Did others experience this same treatment?  Does Quickbooks not have the ability, like banks do, to pull back funds from the institutions who received the fraudulent payments?  Finally, can someone let me know what steps they took to navigate this issue, both in approach with clients and Quickbooks?
