Hi,
I'm using QBDT Pro 2020 (Canadian Version) on a Windows 7 HPEliteBook.
I received an automatic update about a month ago ( I thought I have automatic updates turned off ???) Anyway, I now wants me to install the update. I believe it is the QB browser update based on the R version. Its mandatory. Each time I open QB It has told me that I have 3, 2, and now 1 opportunity left to open QuickBooks without installing (fortunately I hibernate my computer at night).
My concern is: Will the updated browser work with Windows 7 (Up to QB 2020 Win7 is compatible), but is te browser? What if I can't open QB - like so many here?
I can't get a straight answer from QuickBooks and Technical Support is "busy helping customers with urgent matters and is unavailable at this time" according to the customer service rep I spoke with. Are all customers having issues with this new browser update now?
Is there a way to delete the uninstalled update file and just leave things as they were, using the unsupported IE11? I do not use any bank feeds and I don't do payroll anymore (although the subscription is still active, for now.
Any help will be appreciated.
KJ

They force us to install the release update and we couldn't avoid it any longer. You should be fine as long as IE11 is still running on your machine.
@Fiat Lux - ASIA: Exactly. I feel forced into this and the representative I spoke with yesterday and today is not being helpful at all. He refuses to connect me with technical support and his only response was "you will have to upgrade your operating system or you can switch to QuickBooks Online" It seems to be the standard response - to get DT users to buy the online version.
Getting message - This version of QB requires MS IE 6 or later.
Intuit needs to fix QBD as we had to pay big bucks to buy the version we have.
Which QB Desktop year version and Windows OS do you run?
I have QBD 2015 running on Windows 10 Pro.
Thank you

Try reinstalling your QBD 2015 in Win 7 compatibility mode as a workaround. In our experience, Win 10 Home is friendlier to let IE11 run on our machine than Win 10 Pro. If the same error message persists, consider installing the trial version for QBD 2021 to compare.
