Thanks for replying to the thread, Brita2.
I know how important it is to update your QuickBooks Desktop. However, only users with administrator privileges can perform software updates in QuickBooks Desktop. This is a security measure to prevent unauthorized changes to the software.
For the update download link, please click here: https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products
When the download finishes, open the file to install the update. After the installation, restart your computer.

Hi there, @Brita2.
I can share insights about allowing users to update QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
QBDT recently updated some security features in the program. Account-specific tasks within the company file, like downloading update patches, will require admin rights to complete. Only admins can run updates for QuickBooks and Windows. With that, the user would need to be an admin in order to install and updates.
I'm leaving these articles for further guidance in managing your company file users and roles in QBDT:
Once everything is good and ready for updates, please visit this article for future reference: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
Kindly update this thread if you need further help managing users in QuickBooks. I'm always around to help.
I don't see in your links how to grant a user access to update QBDT. Do you have specific how to on this?
It is stating that one of my workstations that they don't have access to update QBDT. Can you advise on how to give them access? None of our other workstations are having this issue.
Thanks for replying to the thread, Brita2.
