1099 form got rejected due to company name. Tried both changing it from the filing screen or Account and Settings screen. Still won't save right.

I'll help you change and correct the company name on your 10999 form that the IRS has rejected, bluemountain.

First, could you share what occurs when you attempt to save the new information? While you wait for your response, since you've identified the company name as the cause of the rejection, you'll need to void your 1099 form by going to the Taxes menu, selecting the 1099 filings tab, and choosing Void. This action will void the rejected form.

Then, correct the company name by reviewing your company information. Note: It needs to match IRS records exactly. Here's how:

  1. From the Contractors tab, select Prepare 1099.
  2. Review your company's legal name and tax identification number.
  3. Select Edit to see more info or to make a correction.

Finally, e-file your 1099 form again by following these steps:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Contractors.
  2. Select Prepare 1099s.
  3. Follow the steps to create and e-file your 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC. Be sure to review and update if needed your company's legal and contractor info, including their legal name, tax identification numbers, and addresses.
