1099 preparation for 2022

When I try to run a 1099 summary report to start getting ready to prepare my 2022 1099's, the report is empty.  The only way I can get anything at all is to run the report wide open for all vendors.  When I put in the "1099 vendors only" and "1099 accounts only" and "Use Thresholds"  I get absolutely nothing.  I've tried toggling between MISC and NEC, again no difference.  Also I notice in the Prepare 1099 module that it is still showing 2021 not 2022??  It's very frustrating to be nearing the end of the year and not being able to do prep work to make the season easier!   With the reports not working properly, I can't even run a simple report to tell me how many 1099's I will be needing to prepare and who I need to get more information from.

Am I missing something??

1099 preparation for 2022

Hi there, @ljkentucky.

I'll ensure you can successfully run a 1099 summary report for 2022.

QuickBooks will set the default date to the last Calendar year when running a report. That said, I suggest checking the date range of the report. You can find it at the top of the page.

For the issue with using 1099 vendors, accounts, or thresholds filters, check how to Fix missing contractors or wrong amounts on 1099s to get everything back on track.

After fixing everything, you can now smoothly run a summary report and get ready to prepare the 2022 1099s.

1099 preparation for 2022

@Ethel_A

I did already set the dates to 2022.  Also my vendors are set up as eligible for 1099 and I have done 1099's before so I know my accounts were mapped correctly..... unless you have to map the accounts again every year - which I cannot do because the 1099 module is still set up for 2021 instead of 2022.

  I still just get an empty report for both MISC and NEC when options are set to Only 1099 vendors and Only 1099 accounts

While the 1099 module does still have the January 2022 due date  for 2021 1099's when you open it, I can see where I can work through that module anyway.  I can also see that  none of my accounts are still mapped  from last year so I guess I will re-map then in order to get my reports and hopefully won't have to remap again whenever QB decides to update the module to reflect the January 2023 due date for 2022 1099's

Thanks for your response!
