Join nowWhat is going on at Intuit? They are trying to push down a 57% price increase for Desktop Pro! For what? Inflation is nowhere near that....
I understand what you feel, @jreyher. I'm here to ensure you get routed in the right direction of support to give you more details about this.

I tried to call and was on hold for about 15 minutes before I had to hand up. I tried to chat and the agent didn't connect for an hour and 15 minutes. I was then on a call and missed the agent. I tried a second time to chat and waited about 45 minutes. Does this sound like good customer service? Clearly customer service at Intuit is lacking. When I finally got an agent, I was given a bunch of canned company lines about enhancements. None of the "enhancements" justify this kind of increase. Intuit is seeking profit. Generally people are expecting some price increases but 57% is absurd. The gross revenues of Intuit have nearly doubled from 2019 to 2022 from price increases and acquiring Credit Karma and Mail Chimp.
Their intention is really to force you to switch to QBO. As I know they will increase the price for QB Desktop 2024 later.
Agreed. I think most of us who use Desktop do so because it is a real accounting software. If Quickbooks Online had all the features of Desktop, I wouldn't mind switching. Desktop has been better in functionality and price in the past, especially when we were able to have a three year license instead of an annual subscription.
My QB Plus annual subscription has increased from $349 in 2022 to $549 for 2023. Why the $200 increase?
They want you switching to QBO. You can purchase a new license for QBD 2023 Pro Plus for single user through a partner for $550 (tax exempt). You can get $100 as cashback to lower your cost. T&C apply.
We've heard your concerns about how this price increase affects your QuickBooks experience, jeff13200.
As much as I want to check on this $200 increase, I'm unable to do it here as this is a public forum, and all accounts-related issues like charges/fees are better addressed by calling our support.
I suggest contacting our Customer Care Support so they can review your account and provide details about the charge. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague above.

Thanks. All I got with customer service was the following. I guess we either pay up or look for an alternative solution.
We certainly did not take this decision lightly and recognize the impact it has on our customers. We believe that, in order to continue to offer the products and service we do and to maintain the level of quality as well as the level of support, we had to make this change.
Customer Care Support has been contacted, they gave the company line and didn't offer any justification for the price increase.
That was my experience as well. Just pay it... or look for another solution.
It’s a Lot more than 57% from 2 years ago! I have had QB Pro for about 20 years. I was paying $100 per year, (forced upgrades every 3 year years of $299), then last year hit with $549 and now $649!!! WTF! I feel like this is extortion!
Do you need to run any add-ons? e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment
