A report with sales by customer and the cost of those sale

We are looking for a report that will show the sale by customer (Qty, sales price, amount) and then in columns next to this the cost of the sales (cost per item, total cost, profit). Is this possible?

Good day, @Kallen1.

 

You can run the Journal report, as this will show you the sales income with the cost includedI'll guide you how:

 

  1. Click Reports at the left panel.
  2. Go to the search icon and type Journal.
  3. Hit the Report period drop-down to set the correct date.
  4. Select the Customize button. 
  5. Click the Rows/Columns drop-down arrow then put a checkmark in the Name box. 
  6. Hit Run report.

No, it's not possible to run a report in QBO.

But it would be really nice report though if it's available.

Hello there, DebbieA.

 

In QuickBooks Desktop, you can pull up two reports to get this information. You can use the Sales by Customer Detail report and Item list. Then, customize the report by following the steps below:

 

  1. Click the Customize Report button.
  2. Search the detail you want to generate on each report.
  3. Add other necessary information.
  4. Then, OK.

 

Once done, you can export the two reports to Excel and combine the information. You may want to check these articles for more details about modifying and saving what you have currently modified on the report:
