ACCESS DENIED

QB recently did an update and now when I go into my accounts on QB MAC I get a message ACCESS DENIED  Quickbooks doesn't have access to your Calendar events and reminds.  I do not want to give it access.  How can I get this to stop coming up.  Thanks for any help you can give.

ACCESS DENIED

It's nice to see you here in the Community, @PhantomGirl. I'd be glad to help you get rid of that error message.

I can see how this error affects your working progress. To resolve this, we can perform some troubleshooting steps by going to your system preferences. I'll guide you on how.

  1. Navigate to your Mac's system preferences and go to Security & Privacy.
  2. Then, select Calendars (not reminders) and click the box for QuickBooks [the year version].
  3. Your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac will create a backup.
  4. Once done, close the program and reopen it.

I'll provide this helpful resource that you can use as a guide in navigating your QBDT for Mac: QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022 User's Guide.

I'm always ready to provide additional assistance for any QuickBooks concerns you may have. Please don't hesitate to get back here. Have a great week ahead and take care.

Apple had changed their calendar APIs and the latest QB Mac update fixed calendar functioning on newer macOS versions.  Unfortunately it appears we missed the case where you didn't want to give it access to the calendar (I don't think it does any harm - only synching the things you tell it to synch - but I understand you don't want to give it access).

We'll work up a fix for this and release it when we can.

Yes this seems to have worked but now isn't it giving QB access to my Calendar?   I didn't want it to have access

I am also having this problem. I do NOT want to give Quickbooks access to my calendar. How can I get this error message to stop showing up, without giving access? It is super annoying. I'm using Quickbooks Desktop for Mac 2021.

"QuickBooks doesn't have access to your Calendar events and reminders."

Thanks!
