Hello - I'm used to QB desktop and we just switched to QBO. I'd like to know if there is a way to customize invoices so that the account summary shows on invoices (I've done that) but it defaults to a sub-account level not entire account. I just noticed that right now it adds all of the outstanding invoices for each company (account) not per contact (sub-account), and this is problematic for us.

Hi and thanks,
I did add the account summary to the invoices, which is what I intended to do. That was easy. And I know how to remove it. The problem is that I want the account summary to show only the invoices and amounts that belong to that particular individual within the account (that is, a contact under the account, I think these are called sub-accounts in QBO?), but I don't see a place to do that. Right now it shows the account summary for the entire account, and we have several accounts where we have very many contacts in different departments, so that becomes very confusing. I'd like to show only the account summary for that one individual. Is that doable?
Thanks for your reply, Bea5.
To clarify, are you trying to print an invoice or a statement? If you only want to see the individual account summary, you can change how the customer is billed.
Here's how:
Once done, go back and print the invoice of that customer or click the + New > Statement. Then, try printing a statement for that specific individual.
