Anyone else having issues with check alignment and no luck with the new QBO check alignment tool?

Good morning, @kostersanddevrie

Thanks for reaching out. I hope your Friday is going great.

I'm covering some steps below to fine tune your alignment since it sounds like you've already got everything set up.

  1. Select + New.
  2. Choose Print checks.
  3. Hit Print setup.
  4. Tap No, continue setup. Then select No, continue setup again. This opens up the check in an alignment window where you can adjust the margins to correct the alignment:
  5. In the check image window, drag the grid so the numbers are in the same place they appear on your sample print. QuickBooks will automatically adjust the alignment.
Please Note: The numbers on the vertical and horizontal fields are adjustable and tell QuickBooks exactly where to print the check amount.
  6. After adjusting the grid, click on View preview and print sample. Then hit Print.
  7. Follow the on-screen steps to finish printing your sample check
  8. Check the alignment of your sample against a blank check.
  9. Repeat the grid alignment process and print as many times as you need until your check is aligned correctly.
  10. Select Finish Setup.

That should do the trick. If you're still having issues with the alignment, please check out our troubleshooting guide: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online

Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this process. I'm happy to help. Have a good one!

I have worked through all the steps and the alignment is still off.

  • Moved the alignment box off the page at the right margin and the numerals for the amount are still overlapping the $ sign.
  • The Payee Address needs to adjust down a bit.
  • I am using voucher style checks and the printed information needs to adjust down about 2 lines.

The laptop computer is running Windows 10 Home. I ran an update on Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Please help!
