Back up my files- save on my external drive

I would like  to create a back up of several years' QuickBooks Online activity, and save to my external hard drive (not Drop Box, Not Google Drive).  How do I do this?

I have the information you need regarding backing up your file in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Jody134Broad. I'd be pleased to help you out.

You can export reports, lists, and other data from QBO and easily download the data entered into your file to your local hard drive. Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Export data.
  2. Set the date range on the Reports tab.
  3. Add or remove items from the Reports and Lists tabs by turning the switch on or off.
  4. Select Export to Excel.

You can also export non-posting information that's not included in Reports and Lists. For detailed guidance, read this reference: Export non-posting transactions and attachments.

Moreover, you'll want to consider looking for a third-party app to integrate with QBO and use it for backing up your files. To find one, visit this link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/.

You can convert your data to QB Desktop file and use the trial version to access your historical data for good.
