The backup restore feature is only available in QBO Advanced. Otherwise, you can purchase a 3rd party backup restore app.

Backup

Hello there!

I'll share some information about setting up a backup file in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As mentioned by Fiat Lux - ASIA above, the backup feature is currently available in the QBO Advanced version. If you got this version of QBO, you can turn on the Online Back-up & Restore app. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then select Back up company.
  3. Select Authorize to proceed.

Once done, QuickBooks will automatically back up your data and restore it at any point in time. You can check out this article for more guidance: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced Company.

However, if you're not using this version, you can utilize a third-party app that helps you to back up your data. Otherwise, you can upgrade to Advanced.

You may also want to run and customize reports in your QuickBooks Online account in the future. This will help you focus on the details that matter the most to you, especially your sales and purchase transactions.

Please keep us posted if you have additional questions about backing up your QBO data. The Community team and I are always here to help.
