Join nowOur inventory contains numerous Build Assemblies. How can I export each Bill of Materials out of Quickbooks or a way to export to excel or csv file? I am currently using Manufacturing and Wholesale 18.0.
Hello there, @Anonymous.
Welcome to the Community space. I can share some insights about exporting build assemblies in QuickBooks Desktop.
Currently, you can export all items to Excel or CSV file. However, this will not show each Bill of Materials under the assembly. If you wish to continue with the process, here's how:
Another way of exporting data is through the Utilities option. You can follow the steps below:

The one size fits all answer does not answer the question
@Anonymous
Short answer is that you can not get the BOM exported for assembly items
You can edit the assembly item, click print, then select the type of file to tab delimited, that can be imported into excel, but it is one BOM at a time
I realize you’re using the desktop version, and this solution works better with QBO since it has integration features, but have you tried checking out the QuickBooks app store to monitor your production and handle your BOMs via a manufacturing app like Katana? You can easily save your product BOMs and variations within the app and export that information in an Excel sheet.
