Build Assembly Date

Is there anyway to make the date in the Build Assembly window default to the last date used? It currently defaults to today's date every time you press 'Build & New'. We make many parts each day and it's a real pain and time waster to change the date each time. Especially when you have to also go back a month (I'm entering end of Dec production now).

I'm using Enterprise:2021 Manufacturing and Wholesale edition.

Thanks a bunch!

Build Assembly Date

Hi there, Cam.

The system is designed to use the date as to when you add an item. That said, you'll have to manually change the date to keep track of the recorded inventories.

I've also added this reference for more information about manually tracking your product's parts or materials: Combine your inventory items to build finished goods.

Keep me posted if you have other concerns about assembling items. I'll be around to help you out!

Thanks for the speedy reply Adrian! It would be super handy if you could choose it to default to the last date used. I've been using QB Enterprise since May and really do prefer it to the system we were using before. That said you can tell it isn't designed for manufacturers. Another really nice feature would be the ability to generate costs (both material and standard) from the BOM using current or defined costs for the component items. Right now it's export to excel then use Vlookups to get your inventory value. Oh well.
