Business Name Change on login screen

Allow me to assist you with your business name.

You can enter a legal name and a company name in QuickBooks Online. The legal name appears on paperwork, whereas the company name appears on sales forms, purchase orders, and the Select Company page. If you wish to modify how the name displays on the Select Company page, you'll need to update the company name.

We are currently unable to create a business nickname. Go to the Gear icon, click Account and Settings, then amend the Company section if you want to change the company name.

I had already corrected the name under account-settings- company name but it doesn't change the name under the "select company" after I log in.     

You can see in this screenshot how the second name isn't correcting.

I want to ensure you're able to update the business name as quickly as possible.

Based on your scenario, there's a possibility that you're experiencing a browser-related issue. Sometime the stored cache can cause it to happen. To check. we'll have to first login to your QBO company using an incognito page. 

Here are some shortcut keys to open it:

• Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
• Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P
• Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: Command + Option + P

After that, I suggest logging out from your account then logging back in. If you're able to see the company name successfully changed, I recommend you clear your browser cache regularly.

I have tried this and no change to my business name.

Since the issue persists even after following the suggestions above, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. You can work with one of our online specialists in letting our engineering team investigate why you're unable to change the name on the login screen.

You can do so by following the steps below:

1. Go to Help.
2. Select Search.
3. Click Contact Us.
4. Enter Unable to change the business name in the What can we help you with? field.
5. Select Continue.
6. Click Chat with us or Have us call you.

I will certainly try that again.  I did contact them before posting here and spent over 2 hours on the phone with the individual.  She was really no help and honestly knew less than I did about QuickBooks.
