I can see the importance of importing your invoice template, Karrie.
The option to import invoice template is unavailable. With this, I'd suggest sending feedback to our product development team since we make updates based on user feedback.
Here’s how:
In the meantime, you can use your old template and set it as Default when creating an invoice. I'll guide you on how:

Hi
I have a similar issue re the new 'modernised' invoice. Every time I try to use my default design (set up as you have suggested), QBO converts my invoice to this modernised version. How do I stop that happening?
Thank you for following up on this thread, @treasurer181. I appreciate your efforts in setting up your default invoice design in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I'm here to help you use your preferred template without any issues.
Your invoices may have been defaulted to the modernized version, overriding the previous settings in the Custom forms styles tab. To ensure your chosen invoice format remains, update the settings in the Invoice tab itself.
Here's how:
If the issue persists after applying these steps, I suggest contacting our Live support team. They can provide real-time assistance and help fix complex issues like this.

Hi AdonL
Thank you for your advice to "remove the modern design as default". Unfortunately it does not work.
After going into the +new (not +create)/invoice/manage, I can change the form design default from the modern to my preferred template. But there is no "remove default" button. Instead it has a red dot, indicating that it is the default. So I click on my "other template" and the red highlight (default) is then my template. So ok.
If I make a new invoice within QBO, my template is used.
HOWEVER (and this is my problem), when I import an invoice through the Import Data function, the system reverts to the modernised template (and by clicking manage, I see that the design template default has returned to the modernised design - as shown by the red button). So my invoice is not what I wanted, and the only action for any imported data invoice I can now take is to edit again - invoice by invoice.
This is the exact issue that the starter of this thread wanted solved. Did your advice work for that enquiry?
I will try live support. Thanks again
