Hi guys, I am trying to bulk add service items from Excel into the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries window. From all the videos ive watched, people are able to copy a large amount of data in Excel and simple paste it into this window. However when I copy a couple of lines in Excel, it only pastes the first cell into the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries window?? All the other copied cells just vanish.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Thank you for the help Angelyn_T.
I think I found the issue!
Its quite silly, but I was copying from an Excel file located on my local machine onto the QB file which is located on a remote desktop. I have no clue why it would only copy one cell but there it is.
I saved the Excel file onto the remote desktop as well (I couldn't do that previously as I wasn't admin and had to ask for the permissions first) and copied and pasted and voila :-)
I appreciate the steps you've performed to add your items into the program, @AccountantLex. I’m here to provide additional information that will help clear things up.
Yes, we can copy and paste list information from Excel directly into QBDT using the Add/Edit Multiple List entries window. Since you’re experiencing issues with the succeeding cells, perform some troubleshooting steps. Let’s start with verifying and rebuilding your data. This process scans your company files for errors or data damage.
Here’s how:
For other damage troubleshooting steps for Windows, feel free to check out this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop
If you get the same result after running those troubleshooting steps, I suggest using QuickBooks File Doctor. To begin, download and install the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of QuickBooks Tool Hub. Then let’s install the program by opening the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe) and follow the on-screen instructions.
To open the tool hub, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop. We recommend running QuickBooks File Doctor on Windows 10, 64-bit. Then, run the Quick Fix my File utility by following these steps:
If the issue persists, you’ll want to proceed to Step 3 to fix your company file and network issues.
You’ll want to consider importing the items using an IIF file. I’ll show you how:
For the complete process of the Advance Import, see this link: Import or export MS Excel files

Thanks for the time to respond to me.
I am uncertain why a rebuild would fix the issue? It seems like a simple copy and paste issue? I thought it might have something to do with permissions? Could you let me know how a rebuild would allow me to paste info from excel into a quickbooks window?
I did try the rebuild and there were no errors in the company file.
I appreciate your help, thanks again.
One more thing, the option to "Copy down" a line item in the Add/Edit Mu;tiple List Entries window is greyed out, so it felt like a permissions issue.
Hi, @AccountantLex. I appreciate you for getting back. Let me share additional insights about the troubleshooting steps provided.
I appreciate you for performing the verify and rebuild tool to isolate the issue. Running it fixes the commonly known data issues within your company file that may cause the behavior you're getting when copying and pasting multiple entries into QuickBooks from Excel.
Since you don't see any errors in your file after the process, I'd recommend opening your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) file as a master admin to avoid user restrictions. Once opened, try to paste your entries again. I'm adding this article as your reference: Add and edit multiple customers, vendors, and items.
If you're getting the same result, you can proceed with the succeeding solutions provided by JamaicaA above. You can also repair QuickBooks if needed.
Let me know if you have other questions while adding multiple list entries in QBDT. I'm always here to help. Keep safe!

I am facing the same problem as well. Can you walk me through how you did it your way, please?
I am experiencing the same issue where I can only copy and paste one cell at a time. Do I need to save the Excel file on OneDrive in the host drive? I've tried many different methods, but nothing has worked. Please help.

Given that you've completed different methods of troubleshooting, there are a few workarounds we can perform with copying multiple entries. I'd be glad to discuss this in detail and guide you on how to fix this.
To avoid getting user restrictions, I recommend opening your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file using the admin credentials. If you're accessing the company file remotely, you can create a copy and save it in the Excel file locally.
Once you open the file successfully, copy and paste the entries again to see if it works. If you get the same result, run the repair tool via the Control Panel.
To fix QBDT software via the Control Panel, please follow the steps below:
Once completed, open the QBDT company file and install the latest updates. Here's how:
After installing the latest software update, copy and paste list information from Excel directly into QuickBooks. I recommend referring to this article for detailed information on the process: Add and edit multiple customers, vendors, and items.
Additionally, you may refer to this article for more insights and information into importing and exporting QuickBooks data with MS Excel files: Import or export MS Excel files.
