Does the QuickBooks community have an RSS feed for community posts? Intuit's Proconnect has an RSS feed and it is a nice way to stay on top of what is going on with the tax software.
Hello @johnmgoing,
Welcome to the Community. Let me share some clarification about using RSS feeds for the QuickBooks website.
Currently, a direct way to use RSS feeds in the QuickBooks Community website is unavailable. As a workaround, you can use an RSS reader to aggregate the feeds, in most cases displaying content in an abbreviated form with a link to the full text or audio/video file.
For free apps you can download, please visit this page: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/in/resources/rss-2/.
Leave a comment below if you have other concerns. The Community and I will be around to help you.
Thanks for responding. Yes, I am using a feed reader (Feedly) to aggregate content. I am asking the actual Feed address for the QuickBooks forums, so I can add to my feed reader.
Hi there, johnmgoing.
You can consult Feedly Customer Support so they can walk you through how to integrate the feed reader to QuickBooks. You can also post on our Intuit Developers page for more details.
If you need anything else, you can always post them here. Take care!
We are also in need of the RSS feed for community Q&As. Is it possible for Intuit to create an RSS feed url?
I appreciate your time in reaching out to us, @ClementBR.
Allow me to share some information about creating an RSS feed URL.
Currently, viewing RSS feeds in the QuickBooks Community is unavailable. In the meantime, you can download and install a standalone RSS reader or sign up for a web-based service.
There are many different ways of viewing and managing RSS feeds. Newer versions of some web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Apple’s Safari have simple RSS readers built into them.
You can also check this article for additional information about RSS Feed - QuickBooks.
Keep me posted on how this works. I'll be around the corner to keep an eye on your reply. Take care!
That does not help.
I'm not asking how to consume rss feeds. There are many ways to do that as you pointed out, but we need a feed in the first place.
I was asking about the rss feed url for community Q&A posts.
Can you add a feed url that we can consume?
The question is not asking how to consume an rss feed.
We need a feed in the first place.
Can you please add an rss feed url that we can consume?
(Popping in as Community Manager to offer a workaround.)
While we do not currently have an RSS feed for the Community, we do have a Subscribe option available using the 3 vertical dot menu at the very top of each Community page.
If you go to the main feed page of any forum and choose the product you are interested in, you will see the 3 vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner.
From there, you can click that vertical dot menu and choose Subscribe.
This allows you to get email notifications of new content on that forum/product.
You can subscribe to as many or as few forums as you are interested in, and will receive email updates with new discussions.
I might also suggest, based on the volume of posts in the Community, that you go into your preferences (by clicking on your avatar and choosing My Profile, Edit, and then clicking on the Subscriptions and Notifications tab) to change your notification preferences to a daily digest email, the default is set to "Immediately" which sends out individual emails for each discussion, but there is also a weekly option as well, so you can choose whichever suits your purposes better.
We have not received any requests for an RSS feed prior to this, but if enough people are interested, it is definitely something we could consider adding as a feature to the Community in the future.
Hi @LisaNullar ,
I'm able to subscribe to individual questions, however I'm not seeing an option to subscribe to an entire topic.
For example at https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/reports-and-accounting/misc/02/reports-and-accounting?la... when I click the 3 dots, there is no 'Subscribe' option.
Thanks for getting back to me about this @ClementBR. The subscribe option should be working at the higher level, it's basically just an on/off switch. So I am going to file a ticket with our support team to find out why it isn't visible at the category level for you. It may take a few days to hear back, but I will let you know once it's been resolved.
I see. Did you see my screenshot?
While subscribing at the forum level might help, what we really need is an RSS feed.
Is it possible to create a ticket to add an RSS feed?
Thanks for coming back to our forum, Clement.
Yes, we are able to see the screenshot you shared. We understand that you would want the RSS feed to be available, and we are taking note of this request. Lisa is our Community Manager, so we will coordinate with her about the ticket creation.
This discussion is always open and you can request some updates here too.
Also, if you have other concerns about this forum or anything QuickBooks related, post here again any time. We'll be glad to help you. Have a wonderful day!
Ok thanks for your reply. Fingers crossed then. 🤞
@Jen_D according to Khoros, the following page should return the RSS feed.
https://yourdomain.com/[CommunityID]/rss/Community
Do you know the community ID?
Hey there, @ClementBR.
Appreciate you getting back to us. I have some information about the Community ID. The ID differs from page to page, it may not work on the link you've followed.
In the meantime, you'll want to wait for our Community manager @LisaNullar to complete the ticket and get this resolved.
Know that you're always welcome to swing by anytime if you have concerns with the QuickBooks Community post. Stay safe and have a good one.
Hey @ClementBR
Just to clarify things a bit - the ticket I have submitted is about the Subscribe feature not working correctly.
We do not currently have an RSS feed enabled. As I mentioned above, if we get a lot of requests for one we might consider it, but as of now there is no RSS for the Community.
I'll let you know once I've heard back on the Subscribe ticket.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
