Buy nowI need to have a company file converted from the format generated by QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2023 to that used by QuickBooks Pro 2019 so I can use it with that version. I realize that Intuit makes that impossible for regular users, which makes me pretty angry, but apparently the accountant version allows saving in legacy formats. If this is true, there must be somebody providing that service for those of us in a big jam.
Can anybody refer me to a company or service that will do this for me? I'm willing to pay a reasonable fee for this important service.

The process of upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company file is irreversible. As a result, you're unable to convert your file to an older version.
In the meantime, you can visit our Apps Center to search for a third-party app that allows you to revert your 2023 company file to the 2019 version. Simply enter an appropriate keyword in the search bar, and the list of compatible applications will appear.
Also, I'd recommend creating a backup copy before upgrading your company file to a newer version of QBDT. In this manner, you can restore the file and access it in an earlier version.
Furthermore, you can transfer data to and from QBDT instead of starting from scratch. This way, it's easy for you to convert, upgrade, or create a new company file.

Was the file originally created on QBD 2023 or did you accidentally upgrade it from QBD 2019?
The file was created using the QBD 2023 version. The company file was originally created back in 2012 with the QB Pro 2012 which was in use at that time. Over the years I have updated QB and eventually ended up with the annual subscription in May of 2022. Until then I used QB Pro 2019 and was completely satisfied. It met all my needs, but Intuit kept warning me that support would stop and that I should upgrade to the subscription. Big mistake. I am an independent engineering consultant. It doesn't get any simpler than that for accounting. I want to go back to the QB Pro 2019 and drop my subscription.
You should find a used one time license for QBD 2020 or 2021. I can offer a workaround to downgrade your file later.
I'm also stuck with the same issue... we have been using quickbooks since 2009 and upgraded every 3 years , it has now become to expensive... this solution to go back to an older version seems like a great work aroind.. Can you please provide some details as to how to get this done. Thanks in advance.
Which QB Desktop year version do you run? QB Desktop 2022?
QB2022 Pro
Quick books 2022 Pro
Your can try to find a used license for QBD 2021 and convert your core data from QBD 2022. Otherwise, purchase a new license for QBD 2023 and you can get a $100 as cashback if you are lucky. T&C apply.
