Create a portable company file quickbooks mac 2019
I can not update QB on my mac to the newest version because I am still running Catalina OS. I can't upgrade to the latest Mac OS until I upgrade my QB. It's a catch 22. Therefor, I am trying to create a portable company file so that I can upgrade my QB and have a copy incase something happens and I can not get into QB, I can import a complete file so I do not loose anything.
I am unable to find instructions for Mac 2019 QB desktop version. Everything is for PC and or newer versions. When I call in, the people in India are of no help.
You can use the trial version for QBD 2021 to run on Catalina.
Thanks for reaching out to us, @Roxy7778.
Currently, creating a portable company file is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Mac. However, I can show you how to back up your company file so you'll be able to restore it seamlessly if you ever run into a problem with your data.
We recommend backing up your company file daily, monthly, and yearly. Before that, please note the following:
Please follow these steps on how to manually backup your company file:
For further information, please see this article: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac company file.
Moreover, we update QBDT for Mac regularly to fix issues and provide better experiences. To see the new and improved features, I'd recommend visiting this link: Release notes for QuickBooks Mac Plus 2023.
Let me know in the comments below if you have additional concerns about creating a portable company file. We're available 24/7 to answer your queries. Have a nice day ahead!
again, please read the entire post. I am not on the current version of desktop, it is Mac 2019. there is a difference between a back up to restore from any portable back up. I need something that if I need to put it on a different computer that I can have a complete version. I had this problem quite a few years ago and had to pay a lot of money to get someone to downgrade my operating system back what it used to be with my Mac. The regular backup will not do this
I was told I couldn't by QB and this comes up when searched...
The newest version = QBD 2023, correct?
You can use QBD 2021 to upgrade your file as the stepping stone
Then you can upgrade your OS (if your machine still supports it) or buy a new one to run QBD 2023.
there is no download on that link for 2021
2023 will not work FYI
You need QBD 2021 to run on Catalina, not QBD 2022 or 2023.
correct, that's why i sent the screen shot, you gave me the link for a newer version in the previous post. Do you have the link I need? I can't find it.
I see that, so where do I get it?
Send me a private message and we will share it later.
