Thank you for keeping us updated, @OllieMeyer.
QuickBooks doesn't ask for a fee to fix data issues. I want to make sure you'll get assistance from our support team.
Since your accountant isn't able to open the file, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. One of our agents will check on this matter further and provide in-depth troubleshooting steps to get this resolved.

I called the number given to me through a message on here. They have charged me $600 in the end. They remotely entered my computer.
Looks like I have been scammed. I was sent a message with a phone number to call. That have had remote access to my computer all this time. I’m mad as hell.
The company claiming to help is called Data Service Solutions. They have a website etc. still not sure if they are legit or not. They have my claimed that my data base is corrupt. I found another thread with the same thing claiming it was a scam although from another company.
Thanks for notifying us about this, OllieMeyer.
In QuickBooks, we always prioritize the security of our customers. I suggest reaching out to our official Customer Support Team. One of our representatives can pull up your account in a secure environment, and they can further investigate this.
Also, over the past few years, there has been an increase in fraudulent websites spoofing Intuit sites and offering Intuit products & services. Please do not be fooled by these criminals. They are in no way affiliated with Intuit and there programs and services are not endorsed or approved by Intuit in any manner.
From the reports we have, the sites offer Intuit products and also offer Intuit Technical support via Remote Access. Some customers have been asked to pay hundreds of dollars for tech support to a company that really has no intention or ability to fix your issue. What they want to do is gain access to your computer and personal information. Do not be fooled!
All Intuit products offer some form of technical support. Our support sites have the numbers you need to contact us. If you find a third party company offering paid Product support for Intuit products, it is most likely a scam. The actual contact information for all Intuit products can be found at our Customer Service page.
You may want to check out the list with the latest Intuit email or customer support scams so you can avoid them: Security notices.

Can you share their website link? They quote you repair fee by simply remotely accessing your computer?
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
