customer balance statement

I have customers set up on reoccurring invoices. I want to send them a balance statement at the end of the month. What is the best way to run this report and send it?

Good day, @acamp017.

I'm glad to help you send a balance statement to your customer. You can create a customer statement to show outstanding balances or invoices that will soon be overdue.

Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Go to Get paid & pay or Sales, then Customers.
  2. Select the checkboxes for the customers you want to make statements for.
  3. From the Batch actions drop-down ▼, select Create statements.
  4. From the Statement Type drop-down ▼, select the customer statement type.
  5. Select the dates for the statements and the date range.
  6. Review the customer's email addresses.
  7. Click Save and send.

You can also customize and view current statements by browsing this article: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online.

If you want to see outstanding balances to all customers, you can run the Accounts Receivable Aging report. It shows the total outstanding balances and how long they’re past due.

Leave a comment below if there's anything else you need about creating a balance statement for your customers. I'm always right here to help you.

I followed the steps but the statement did not produce the balance for the customer's account. I checked the data range to ensure it covered the correct range. The statement it gives me only has the currently month's payment balance.

Thanks for the update, @acamp017. I know how important this is for you to properly manage your customers' statements. I'll help you get to the bottom of this.

Before proceeding with the exact resolution, I'd like to know more details about this issue. What type of statement did you pull up? Also, how many transactions are available that month, or do you want to include the prior months? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to post a reply if for additional details. I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Take care!
